Badger Creek is a settlement 5 km east of Healesville. The fire brigade is located near the world renowned Healesville Sanctuary.
The members of the brigade are all volunteers. Approximately half are firefighters, the others serve the brigade in a variety of ways including community education. The members conduct fire safe programs in the local school and kindergarten.
The brigade has two fire fighting tankers, one of which is a four wheel drive. Other fire fighting equipment which is specific to the risks in our area are housed in three sheds, one of which is the main fire station.
The brigade responds to approximately 100 emergencies each year and has provided personnel to all the major bush fires in recent years.
The brigade mascot is the Australian Wombat which embodies the brigade motto "Stoic not Heroic".
